I - Menno van Diermen - love new, trending innovations. Together with family and friends we started Netbasics one of the first Dutch internet companies in the mid 90’s. In 2004 we founded Gamebasics together with Jeroen Derwort and Frank Tijhuis († 2018). The Online Soccer Manager app became a worldwide hit, thanks to Jeroen, Frank , Bowie, Youri, Jasper, Dave, Ego and Eric providing us with a thrilling journey. We sold our shares in 2020, the game was over. I was not happy with the generated cash in E-vestment and during a 2-year break during Covid, I found myself desiring for a new thrilling journey. In 2022, I selected Lilium for its global potential. My DISC profile is red-yellow, so I love risks, ambitious goals and thrilling business journeys. Our beliefs
I firmly believe that Lilium will become the leading eVTOL in Regional Air Mobility (RAM). That’s why we support Lilium’s milestones directly with E-vestment cash (2023) and storytelling. I feel Lilium’s passion and talents embedded in their ambition. I see their leadership and strategy works by proofing their planned milestones. I also believe that innovation, entrepreneurship and leadership are crucial drivers to path the way to sustainability.
I also experienced that the Lilium Journey is a real thrilling experience and the path to leadership is one full of challenges, such as insolvency in October 2024 due to a failing German Government support and the lack of a big strategic investor similar tot Archer and Joby. But after Christmas 2024 a restart was announced and I hope that they still can deliver milestones such as the first manned flight in 2025, EASA certification and entry ino service in 2026. After that, another difficult road will follow towards a profitable businessmodel.
Intentions & services
I intend to inspire you, as we all can learn from Lilium’s journey, a real thrilling experience, a revolution in the history of aviation. In the coming years, I will make it transparent to you why and how Lilium will emerge as the leading eVTOL from all perspectives in The Leaders Journey. This will be accomplished through a regularly updated book, website, live events, live experiences and more.
I created the Leaders Journey Roadmap to support also your Journey. The roadmap helps you finding your destination and setting new milestones. It boosts your leadership during your journey. It asks you sometimes to take a break for reflection and inspiration, creating new milestones. You can download it for free on our website. You can ask me for coaching, it will be a thrilling experience.
You can use this inspiration and the roadmap to start your own journey to create a sustainable world. Perhaps you will integrate Lilium in your fleet, your local vertiport, your resorts, hotels or green habitats. Perhaps you start an Lilium Experience Center to offer regional hotspot flights, or you will be one of the first Lilium pilots to fly full electric. You can use this inspiration also to create a more sustainable investment portfolio with Greentech. I have the contacts within Lilium, with the possibility to introduce you and visit them to experience the thrilling energy yourself.
